Crest School History

In January 1951, the civic League contacted the Cajon Valley School District to discuss a school in Crest.  In 1954, the district bought 5.7 acres owned by Suncrest, Inc at $1,200 an acres for the future site of Crest Elementary School.  Crest School opened to students K-6 in September of 1956.  Rex Dahms was the first teaching principal, Miriam Smith, Secretary and Herman Bontager, custodian.  Vivian Thurman was the first president of the Crest PTA.
